Major Content Update – Cult of Anubis & Inquisition Expansion and QoL Upgrades

The next Major Content Update is here! Bringing our new Inquisition and Anubites Quests, Gameplay & UI improvements, new spells, new Sex Scenes, Quality of Life Improvements and More!

Until there is content parity with the Unreal Engine 4 release (in the next update), the UE5 Preview will remain available via a Beta Branch on Steam, to access this latest update, right click on the game in your library -> properties -> betas -> click “ue5_beta”. You’re in!

NEW QUEST – INQUISITION OF BAST

The Inquisition storyline continues this update with Good Tombkeeping. One hour after A Road Paved with Good Intent (or passing time at a campfire), Tefahra will have another task for you; halt the Anubites from pillaging a Tomb in the inhospitable Behid-Heq, dispatch a dangerous boss, then prove your faith and commitment to Bast with a Trial of Pain, Temptation or Prayer.

This quest comes with a new Dungeon, sex scenes, or an optional mini-game.

NEW QUEST – CULT OF ANUBIS

The Cult of Anubis receives their first major quest in UE5 this update, with Amansi’s brother Amhak missing whilst searching for Ritual Vessels. Players can help return him to the Anubite outpost and solve the tomb’s puzzle to receive new hidden treasure and begin earning the trust of the Jackal Cultists.

Players can speak with Amansi in the ruins near Ikenni Villa to get started.

SEX – TWO-STAGE DSS2 SCENE

Tefera’s trial is a two-stage DSS2 scene including a tease and Strap-On and is the most complex scenes we’ve ever done. Available for Females & Males, Tefahra will push you to the limit in order to prove your fortitude and initiate you into Bast’s Inquisition.

SEX – GLORIOUS GLORYHOLES

The temple of Jhedet receives a major update this patch, with new Anal & Pussy options available for for all non-formless players.

NEW GENITALS – DRAKE MEMBER

This update brings the return to unlockable Genital Options to Sabu, bringing with it two new Large genital options, the Drake Member and – for female-form players – the first large size Strap-On, the Inquisitor’s Rod.

Find the new genitals sealed within the latest return to the game: Ritual Vessels are again scattered around the world and deep within Dungeons. In subsequent updates these will be how you will find both new and existing genital skins and cosmetic options.

The new Drake Member is currently available in three skins.

NEW GENITALS – INQUISITOR’S ROD

Futa and Male players are not the only ones to get new options in the update; Female players will now have access to a “large” option in the form of the Inquisitor’s Rod. Not quite so brutally-shaped nor as ornate as Tefahra’s strap-on, this chunky hole-gaper is still a sight to behold.

The new Inquisitor’s Rod enables “large member” content for Female form (non-futa) players.

EQUIPMENT – SHIELDS

Masses of new shields are now available around the world. From corroded relics to ornate bronze, to Anubite, Inquisition, and even the Gilded Fold; there are now 17 new shield options with which players can equip themselves to face the dangers of the dunes.

Players will find these shields on merchants, as drops from enemies, and in the depths of the new dungeons.

EQUIPMENT – BOWS

Bows in CI have been placeholder until now; we’ve finally overhauled them and made them more readily available around the world. The Light Hunting Bow is now the default, which is a little faster than before and with higher crit chance. If you’re lucky you’ll find the Anubite Warbow which is heavier on the draw and does significantly higher damage.

In this update there are only one type of arrows, Bronze, however there are four new types coming in the next update, giving you more options with which to specialise your ranged combat.

ABILITIES – NEW SPELLS

With the new and improved boss-fights in this update, we’ve taken the opportunity to add new spells, expanding and enhancing the Sorcery system.

IMPEDE

Conjures a rune around the caster, slowing enemies. The rune saps momentum, dulls instincts, and weighs heavily on the will to move.

VOLTAGRIM

A jagged bolt of crackling void energy tears through the air, distorting space in it’s wake and damaging all enemies within.

ETHERCRACK

From the ground erupts a cluster of shadow-forged spikes, tearing upward in a violent surge of void energy. The air grows cold and silent before impact. Can cause knockdown.

NEW AREA – DHRAKOQ PORT

This is an early access look into our latest settlement in the world, the exotic-beast market town of Dhrakoq Port.

This lush, tower-studded harbour will soon host all manner of exotic beasts and debauchery, for now however players will gain access to new vendors and a sneak peek at witnessing what happens when a Drake is unintentionally set loose before being tamed…

This scene, and other exotics with the Drakes, are not yet playable but are coming in the next update.

NEW AREA – GREAT TEMPLE OF ANUBIS (WIP)

The more keen-eyed players will spot a new structure on the horizon; The Great Temple of Anubis is now partially remade in UE5. Given that we’re now starting to pick up the pace of main quests we felt it was time to implement the main Anubite stronghold from the UE4 build of the game inside of UE5.

As with everything we make in the UE5 version of the game, it’s not a 1:1 recreation. The walls are now adorned with vast panels detailing the history of Sabu, at least history as the Jackal Cult would tell it.

GAMEPLAY – CAMERA & TORCH

We were getting unhappy with the limited camera options in game and we felt it needed an overhaul, the new camera now lets you zoom in or out whenever you’d like, swap shoulder and we’ll be adding more options for it in the future, we hope you like the change!

You can now change shoulders with Shift or Alt & Zoom in and out with the Scroll Wheel.

We’ve changed the Torch to make it more usable, this now has a keybind in the options, it’s default bound to [ Y ] and this will be added to the radial menu in a future update. By picking up a torch at a vendor or in one of many chests it’ll bring it out and light up the way.

PLAYER EXPERIENCE – NEW GAME OPTIONS

We’ve added two major improvements to the New Game experience, Masculine Formless and the ability to skip the intro.

If you do choose to skip Heifer’s Reach, you’ll be started on Tal’Senet with a sword, some potions and you’ll be level 2 to help you along your way.

NEW FORMLESS

The eagle-eyed of you from the new player screen will also notice that you can now play as a Masculine Formless form from the very start of the game.

PLAYER EXPERIENCE – SAVE SLOTS

We’ve been listening intently to player feedback and suggestions, and a substantial number of you have been asking for more saves and better organization. To this end, this update we’ve added three major features:

  • Save Slots
  • Unlimited Saves
  • Manual Saves

In the menus you can now select your current save slot, each slot has unlimited saves and holds auto-saves, quick saves and manual saves. Hopefully this lets you keep track and not lose any progress and honestly we’re sorry it took us this long!

There’s also a new ‘Save & Quit’ option on the menu that if you can save, it will also save before closing.

PLAYER EXPERIENCE – VIDEO OPTIONS & NVIDIA DLSS 4

DLSS is back on the menu bringing the latest upscaling, frame gen, ray reconstruction and reflex settings to give you more control.

FSR was also added but has been disabled for now as once it was introduced it had major adverse visual and performance issues, when this is resolved it will be re-introduced.

We’ve added some more video settings which were highly requested:

  • Motion Blur
  • Depth of Field
  • Heat Haze

PLAYER EXPERIENCE – FAST TRAVEL

A small tweak, but in response to player feedback, you can now Fast Travel from anywhere(outside of a dungeon)

NEXT UPDATE

QUEEN DRAKES

Blessed eons ago by the God Queen herself, this Drake subtype has been granted particularly human “gifts”. Their hunger for treasure is matched only by their carnal desires. Their assets make them ill-suite to hunting, though they have found other ways to survive in the hostile dunes of Sabu.

In the next content update there will be DSS2 interactions with the Queen Drakes for all forms of player.

A FEAST FOR THE EYES

Having been served little more than blocky fruit since the creation of UE5, we’ll soon have an array of foodstuffs for you to sink your teeth into. From delicate pastries to juicy local produce, each granting various benefits in addition to adding authenticity to the world.

In addition to these smaller morsels, there will be various meat products like roasted Aadi and Seared Dunebug.

There is an awful lot more content in a less polished state which we’re not yet ready to show, but suffice to say the next update will be varied and content rich.
